  • Another Community Server Update

Looks like Telligent caught me off-guard with an update to Community Server. Service Pack 2 for Community Server v2.1 was released today.  I didn't even have a hint that they were working on it. Of course, it would help if I wasn't busy myself, and could visit the forums more frequently. As always, a very worthy update that I will have to ...

  • Added Another CS Module

I added a ''Most Popular Posts'' mod by J-O Eriksson to my blog today.  I may add it to the BibleStudy blog as well. Even though J-O followed with another post pointing out that there is a native way in CommunityServer to obtain similar functionality, I definitely like his module due to the fact that I don't need play around with ...

  • CS Service Pack 1 Has Been Released

And more importantly it has been deployed on this site already. You can find various editions of Service Pack #1 for Community Server version 2.1 at the following link: http://communityserver.org/files/folders/communityserver/default.aspx I also took a moment to add Dan Hounshell's new aggregate blog list mod to the site.

  • Waiting Patiently for CS Service Pack

It won't be long now...   Service Pack 1 for Community Server version 2.1 is just around the corner. Mind you, I haven't had many issues with v2.1 as it is, but I always welcome fixes, and in this case, Scott's comment about cleaning up ''encoding characters in auto named blog posts'' has really piqued my interest. I can't wait to see ...

  • Testing the new GoogleSiteMap mod for Community Server

This is just a test post to see if this thing is working properly... Dan Bartels just updated his CS Module on Wednesday...

  • Test Subject: I'm testing, testing! Yes, Indeed.

This is a test of a new blog autonaming CS Module that Jarda Jirava produced, based on a thread I started over at the Community Server forums. I know I've said it before, but I really, really love this community. Now, let's see what name my lovely post gets! (All things considered, I'm really happy that I upgraded to ASP.NET 2.0 last week, ...

  • Some Additional Changes are coming...

We're almost finished with the basic layout of the website.  There are just a few more Community Server modules that need to get installed, first and foremost of which is the Community-Credit module.  I'm not sure why, but I have spent a whole lot of time getting this one module to be able to run on this site, and so far, there have been ...

  • It's been a busy day...

Today was a looooong day, with plenty of learning opportunities.  As a result, this is a loooong post, with plenty of opportunities to induce boredom. Anyhoo...  This morning, at 5:45am ET, I violated one of my very own technical deployment rules and decided to upgrade my main website (this website, in fact) to ASP.NET 2.0, just before ...

  • Upgrading my CS installation to .NET 2.0

After a long bout of troubleshooting, we finally made the determination that the reason why the Community Credit Add-on for CommunityServer.org wouldn't work on any of my installation, is that it is a .NET 2.0 application, and I've been running CS on .NET 1.1. The sad part is that it didn't occur to me to ask about that key differentiator until ...

  • The Challenges of Skinning in CS

Over the past couple of days, I've been spending mucho time in the CommunityServer.org forums, getting quite a bit of help on making various skinning modifications on my site.  Much of this has been spurred on by things I've seen on the websites of various Telligent members and Community Server MVPs. With lots of help, plus a judicious dose ...

  • CS EventLog Error: CommunityCredit Module

There is still a problem with the Community-Credit module, even though it is no longer crashing my entire CommunityServer installation.

  • Choosing the right editor for Community Server

My Favorite CS Editor Maybe it's just me, but although there are certain things I like about the tinyMCE editor that's now the standard in Community Server 2.1 (such as the ability to set the link to open in a new window), I find that it is a bit slow to load, frequently hogs up the CPU in my browser window (I'm using the Maxthon browser), and ...

  • Fun with Website Upgrades (Community Server)

There's a reason why you shouldn't generally perform website upgrades in the middle of the night, when sleep is calling you. The good folks over at Telligent surprised me today by releasing Community Server 2.1 just hours after I'd upgraded my corporate site over to v2.1 RC1, thinking they wouldn't get the release version out for a few more days ...

  • The *New* and Improved UltraTech Knowledgebase is coming to town...

Very soon.    That's the plan, anyway.  And it will reside in these forums. No matter what, the http://KB.UltraTech-llc.com and http://www.UltraTech-llc.com/KB links will continue to function for quite some time. More news to follow.   First, I need to upgrade my forum to version 2.1 of Community Server.  ...
